James Piscopo was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Lands Authority in 2018, in order to spearhead the necessary reforms the Authority needs to anticipate and overcome daily challenges, whilst transforming it into an effective and accountable vehicle that contributes towards Government’s overall agenda of economic and social progress.

During the past years, Mr. Piscopo served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Transport Malta, one of Malta’s largest government Authorities, with a workforce of over 800 employees. The team he led reformed the public transport system, reaching 48 million passengers. They handled the largest road infrastructural roads projects to-date, including the Coast Road and the Kappara Junction. They also led the Maltese Shipping Registry to become the largest in Europe and the fifth largest in the World, doubling the yachting registration in the process, whilst creating the necessary environment for the aviation industry to thrive and grow exponentially over five years.

During the years prior to his appointment at Transport Malta, Mr Piscopo was the Chief Executive Officer at the Malta Labour Party. As the first CEO of any political party in Malta, he was responsible for the overall reform of the administrative structures of the Party, transforming it into a more efficient entity.
