I hold land on an agricultural lease, can I transfer the lease to third parties

The question of land held on agricultural lease is governed by the Agricultural Leases (Reletting) Act. The Lands Authority will not agree to transfer the lease other than as stipulated in the said Act. Generally this means that an agricultural lease may be transferred to lineal descendants or ascendants of the tenant. Thus a person cannot, for instance transfer an agricultural lease to his brother or cousin, but may transfer it to his children or parents.
